This hotel is excellently located close to the centre of Marbella, 15mins to the centre, 2 mins to the beach, close to restaurants, spacious accommodation
This hotel is the grand old lady of 4 star hotels, it is old but well kept. It could do with modernisation, outdoor pool is small but comfortable and suitable for kids.
The pool area is one of the best I have ever seen. It gets quite shaded from 5pm onwards but it is really lovely. The apartments are services regularly, the balconies are amazing and all the facilities in the room are very good. The hotel is comfortable, near the beach, 10 minute walk to the town and a short taxi ride (11-12e) to Puerto Banus.
The few times I had to go to reception the front desk staff would take phone calls (hotel related, not personal) while sorting out your query. On one occasion the male receptionist was dealing with me, answered the phone and stayed on it for a full 1 minutes. One of the others in our group had a similar experience. When we were checking out we were so long waiting while he took a phone call that our taxi had arrived and we had to ask him to please check us out or we would be late for our flight. They were friendly at all other times but obviously prioritise phonecalls over the guests already in the hotel and this comes across as very rude.
The hotel is close to the beach and practical for groups, as the rooms are spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable. Clearly, it seems like it was one of the first hotels to be built in the area, which gives it a nice cachet. Kitchens are well-equipped. We didn't need to buy any utensils or anything. A microwave would have been good. Raul (at the reception) was nice enough to give us directions (and very accurate ones!) while we were driving there. He's the nicest among the hotel staff we met. Look for him if you ever go there.
We had booked and paid for 2 rooms. One for 3 pax and one for 2. Upon arrival, we were informed that what they had prepared for us were 2 rooms, each for 4 pax and that the price was the same, which we found unfair. Besides that, beach towels were not available, so we had to buy our own set. There should be beach towels in every room, especially that we're in a beach area, and we're traveling light. When we first got to the room, we opened the fridge and water was coming out of it. We complained but nothing was done about it.Then we discovered that our toilet seat was dripping from the bottom (and so was the ceiling in the other room we had booked). Overall, the hotel (or at least the rooms we were in) is not very well-maintained for the price we paid.
Total relaxation; excellent room & location.
The 'spa' - not that I used it - had rude staff over towels. Should not be confused with the helpfulness of the hotel staff.
Excellent location, very spacious apprt, close to the beach and nice pool.
The pool was extremely salty and smelled like pure chlorine.
The hotel was clean and was near to shops, beach and had views of the mountains. Rooms are spacious.
The hotel balcony never got sunshine and therefore we never had the chance to sunbathe. You can hear every pin drop from rooms above and rooms next to you & we didn't get much sleep. One of the patio doors wouldn't lock and the staff were unfriendly. Kitchen was not fully equipped and didn't have enough cutlery etc and had to keep loading dishwasher.
nice three star close to everything
Spa pool etc cou8ld of been better
The situation and comfort of the room.
Location is fab, central for shops and beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very high standard if accommodation
It is so central. Close to the beach, close to old town and close to the main area for designer shops. Lots of great restaurants nearby and a great walk along the paseo to Puerto Banus (45mins)
Unfortunately, the hot water was cold, but when we complained, it was fixed within a few hours.
The size of the room, very spacious. Also we got a very good rate through Booked.net.
No wifi access in bedrooms, would have expected this in a four star hotel. Also like most hotel reception staff we came across during our stay they were all quite cold and aloof, unfortunately it really puts me off holidaying in Spain again. They were not rude however unlike other hotel staff we came across during our trip. Very loud music was piped into reception area, this was were we had to use laptops for wifi so I think it should be softer, quieter music in the background. On returning back to the hotel late one night after a night out we asked for some refreshments but none could be purchased.
Good quality apartment in central location.
We were disappointed with our room location, which was at the front of the hotel and very noisy due to traffic outside. The balcony was very large but sadly got no sun whatsoever. When we arrived the patio doors did not lock so we were quite vunerable the first night and the desk staff were very unhelpful and would not move us to a safer room. In fact, overall, the staff were very unhelpful and quite dismissive. We would stay there again but only on condition we were ensured a room facing the pool. Breakfasts were very good, but again staff very unaccommodating.
Location of room and unhelpful staff.
